چکیده

Abstract The complete flutter analysis of a structure requires the repeated aeroelastic response for various wind velocities. In spectral approach, each these analyses is based on integration power density response. Traditional methods struggle to efficiently estimate integrals because marked peakedness function in neighborhood poles system. this paper, we have derived an extension Background/Resonant decomposition (which commonly applied under quasi-steady assumption), analysis, where stiffness and damping coupled system changes with frequency. Both background resonant components take more general form than well known case. They remain simple, however, offer therefore straightforward understanding proposed formulation illustrated several examples torsional flutter, critical state corresponds either galloping divergence. study limited single degree-of-freedom systems but constitute cornerstone multi systems, such approximation becomes very interesting terms computational efficiency.

Time Domain Flutter and Buffeting Response Analysis

A time domain approach for predicting the coupled flutter and buffeting response of long span bridges is presented. The frequency dependent unsteady aerodynamic forces are represented by the convolution integrals involving the aerodynamic impulse function and structural motions or wind fluctuations. The aerodynamic impulse functions are derived from experimentally measured flutter derivatives, ...

Equivalent Static Wind Loads for Buffeting Response

In current design practice, the dynamic wind loads are described in terms of the equivalent static wind loads based on the gust response factor. This approach results in a distribution of the equivalent static loading similar to the mean static wind load distribution, which may not always be a physically meaningful and realistic load description. In this paper, the equivalent static load repres...

Minimum-mass panels under probabilistic aeroelastic flutter constraints

Aeroelastic flutter is a dangerous failure mode, and aircraft structural components are designed under a deterministic flutter margin. Meeting this safety factor may result in overly-conservative structures, however, an alternative approach incorporates uncertainties into the computational models, and imposes a maximum allowable flutter probability during the optimization process. This techniqu...

Analysis of Long Span Bridge Response to Winds: Building Nexus between Flutter and Buffeting

In current bridge aeroelastic analysis frameworks, predictions of flutter instability and buffeting response to wind fluctuations are treated as two separate procedures. The flutter instability is analyzed through the solution of a complex eigenvalue problem, offering information on how the self-excited forces influence bridge dynamics, especially the modal damping, and eventually drive the bri...
